Member Posts > While still being used, the term Aspergers Syndrome doesn't show up in the latest rendition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM; American Psychiatric Association, 2013), and is currently subsumed under the general class of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Those determined in the past to have Aspergers would now be distinguished as having Level 1 ASD (requiring insignificant backings). A neurodevelopmental issue normally distinguished in adolescence, ASD is analyzed and depicted dependent on two indication aspects:
Deficits in friendly correspondence/social association.
Restricted, redundant examples of conduct, interests or exercises.
